WCW's Halloween Havoc PPV Cuts Out During The Main Event.

At the WCW PPV Halloween Havoc which took place October 25th 1998 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Nevada, Bill Goldberg took on Diamond Dallas Page for the World Heavyweight Championship

The PPV featured 11 matches which might have been the problem to the controversy that would arise later on in the night. PPVs were scheduled for three hours from 8PM to 11PM. WCW never made a deal with the PPV company to allow them to go over allotted time and figured there would be no consequences should they have done so due to their arrogance stemming from their popularity at the time. The Main Event started at 10:59PM. Just seconds after the match started the PPV was cut off and thousands of fans around the world would miss the conclusion to the match.

WCW was forced to refund millions of dollars in PPV buys to those who ordered the PPV and would show the match in its entirety the following night on Monday Nitro.

As stated on the Rise and Fall of WCW PPV the reason behind the error was that there wasn’t really anyone watching the company at the time as the inmates were running the asylum.
