Lillian Garcia Was Not Informed Of The New Tag Champions.

During the WWE PPV Armageddon that took place on 12/14/08 from Buffalo, New York, C.M. Punk took on Rey Mysterio in a #1 Contenders Match for the Intercontinental Title.

As CM Punk made his way to the ring, Announcer Lillian Garcia mistakenly announced him as one half of the tag team champions. Unknown to her, Punk and Koffi Kingston lost the titles on a recent house show.

Michael Cole was quick to point out her mistake, which then led to an explanation of what had happened during the house show.

As soon as Lillian sat down a production staff member came over to her where they had a brief argument about what she had announced. It ended with her shaking her hands and moving her head as if to say that no one told her of the title change.

The titles very rarely change hands on a house show, so it is possible that she wasn’t told what had happened.
